Rooster Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 August 2026

Rooster is a private messenger. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and the choices you have. It is written to match how the app actually works.

What we collect

How we use it

To sign you in, deliver your messages, calls, and media, let contacts find you if you opt in, send notifications, and provide the assistant features you invoke. We do not sell your data or use your messages for advertising.

Who it is shared with

Security

Messages are end-to-end encrypted, the on-device message store is encrypted, and all network traffic uses HTTPS/TLS. Because your messages are end-to-end encrypted, we cannot read them and cannot recover them for you if you lose your device and keys.

Your choices and data deletion

You can turn contact discovery and phone findability on or off in Settings. You can delete your account from the app; deleting your account purges your account data and messages from our servers.

Children

Rooster is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.
